I removed and added some software to my system and seemed
to have hit delete once too much. Now IE6 does not start
properly. It pops up for a split second and then I get a
message "Security settings prohibit running ActiveX
controls on this page" even though I set security levels to
lowest level. I re-installed IE6 and still does not work.
I am able to use Netscape. Any ideas?

well first search for activex on your computer if none
your have to put it back if you have your disk check each
one for active x.if you have a lot of active x than go
back to security and click custom level and click any
safe active x enable.

Check this out.

ActiveX Security Setting Changes Automatically After
Upgrade
When you upgrade from Internet Explorer version 4.0 or
4.01 to Windows 98 or Microsoft Internet Explorer Service
Pack 1 and Internet Explorer is configured to use Medium
Security, the "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not
marked as safe" option in Security Settings in Internet
Properties is automatically set to "Disable". This may
prevent some ActiveX controls from working correctly, or
working at all.
