Hi!

I have got a new laptop-computer with a 15" SXGA+ screen
with a resolution on 1400x1050 (Win-XP) therefore I have
increased the screen dpi to 120 (125%). Now when printing
from Excel each line fills more. (each page contains 4
lines less than before (96 dpi on screen))

Is there a solution so it do not change size when
printing??

I have tried 3 different printer types with the latest
printerdrivers and tried different printersettings - with
the same result...

There IS a problem!! (an error in Excel??)

Best regards - Kaare (Denmark)

I don't have a guess, but are you saying that if you change the screen
resolution back to what it was before, the paper copy changes???

I wouldn't have guessed that windows/excel would work that way, but I've been
wrong before. It's very interesting.

I just tried changing a few settings with xl2002 and win98.

I tried 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1152x864, and 1280x1024.

Each of my print previews (I didn't print to paper) stayed exactly the same.

You sure nothing else changed? Margins, "Adjust to" size???

The problem occurs, when you change the advanced screen-
settings (change the dpi-settings). There is not a
problem if you thange the resolution (ex. 1400x1050).

I use win98 and changing this setting requires a reboot--so I only did it once.

I went from small fonts to large fonts and after the reboot, I started excel and
looked at the saved workbook and did a print preview.

The page breaks were in exactly the same spot.

So I couldn't duplicate it in my one test.
