Problem w/MS Intellimouse Explorer 2

Hello:

I'm having a problem with my wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2 running under
W2K. If I have to restart my computer, the mouse is disabled after the
reboot. I have to completely shutdown the machine and power it up again for
the mouse to work. It's really quite annoying. I've tried to manually
reset it using the buttons on the mouse and the receiver but that doesn't
work.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, please advise.

If there's a better group to post this to, let me know.

Ah - figured it out.

For those who may be curious - I had the mouse plugged in via the PS/2 port
adapter that came with it. When I removed that adapter and went thru the
USB port instead, the problem disappeared.

IMHO, it should work either way with no problems.

Such is life.
