Problem SWFlash ocx

Hi Guys,
have just reformatted my computer and reinstalled Window Xp Sp2 and all
updates. I am putting the programs that I had on before the reinstall. MS
Encarta1998, I tried to reinstall it and I got the following error message;
M/S ENCARTA swflash ocx was unable to register itself in the system
registry, need some advice please as how to solve this problem.

Hi Bob try this, click on start-run then copy and paste this into the box
regsvr32 swflash.ocx
click on ok,

swflash.ocx could be damaged, or may not be stored in the default path.
In the second case, you can change the run command to register the
file from its actual location:

regsvr32 C:\[actual path]\swflash.ocx

Add the actual path to the file, which might be on the CD. Or just copy
the file to the C:\ root folder, and type:

regsvr32 C:\swflash.ocx

Then delete the file afterwards.

Flash, that comes with Encarta 98, is obviously not compatible with a fully
patched XP SP2 system. I think he needs an up-to-date version that "will"
work. (-;

Hello,
You may have a problem with SP2. If you cannot find updates for these
programs then the following may work.
You might try uninstalling SP2, then install any programs that are now a
problem installing.
Then install SP2, and all security updates.
I found that some programs that were installed before SP2 ran without
problem after the SP2 install.
Do not know if this will work with your programs.
