I recently upgraded to Office 2003 and I'm running Windows XP on a Sony serries 505 laptop. I am having the same problem as Chris mentioned on 11/24. If I send an attachment over 1 mb I receive an error that says
"Sending’ reported error (0x8004210B): “The operation timed out waiting from a response from th sending (SMTP) server"
Like Chris, although I receive the error message and the email with the attachment does not show up in my Sent Items folder, the recipient receives the email with the attachment. Many times, since Outlook thinks the email never sent, it keeps resending and then giving the same error message. This is a real drag for the recipient especially when receiving the same 5 mb file from me 3 or 4 times! This issue happens on the network at work and on my verizon network at home so it IS NOT the connection as prior answers to threads try to pass it off as. Also, this did not happen with the prior version of Office.
Any ideas??????
