Problem related to Tomato 810 Chipset motherboard

Hi All,
The system configuration is as follows:
1.Pentium III 500MHz.
2.64 MB RAM.
3.40 GB HDD.
4.The Motherboard is Tomato 810 Chipset.
5.The OS is Windows 98.

I am facing the following problems:-
1.At the time of bootup the system gives beep sound thrice.
2.The system has become very slow and hangs often.
3.I am not able to run either DEFRAG of SCANDISK on C: drive.It keeps
on giving that folders are getting updated and starting the
defragmentation again or scandisk again.
4.The CMOS battery has started getting worn out vary quickly almost in
2-3 months I have replace it.
5.Also there seems to be some problem witht the audio device i am not
able to get any sound also.

Please guide me what should i do in order to solve these problems.

Do you have curreny AV installed? have you used Adaware or Spybot?
Download and run drive manufacturers diagnostic. What makes you think the
CMOS battery is wearing out? If system loses time while switched on, is not
CMOS battery, is software problem.

Make sure you have disk space for a swap file.At least 350mb.You must run
defrag in safe mode(press F8 at startup) or use control-alt-delete to end
all programs except explorer and systray before running defrag.Background
programs cause defrag and scandisk to start over.I'm not sure about the batt
problem or the beep but try reinstalling your sound card drivers.
