Hello All...For some reason, I am no longer able to read
newsgroups with Outlook 2003. I then tried it with IE6 by
going to 'Tools' and 'Read News' but to no avail. I went
to the Microsoft KB but didn't find anything specific to
help me.Anybody have any ideas? Thank you for your time.

Reply was.....Look at this article to see if might help.

Next reply.....DonL, Thank you for your reply. Couple of
things; first, I'm using Outlook not Express. That
shouldn't make much of a difference though. Secondly, the
article you linked to refers to subscribing to newsgroups.
That's not my problem. I know how to configure and
subscribe. I can't even get the reader to execute! My NEWS
command in Outlook is gone from the FILE menu. So I
decided to go to IE to read my newsgroups, but clicking on
TOOLS, MAIL AND NEWS then READ NEWS does absolutely
nothing. I thought I may have some corrupt files, so I
tried "repairing" MS Office 2003 thinking that would fix
the problem, but it hasn't. Any other suggestions would be
appreciated. Thank you.

Are you saying that you can no longer find the News command in Outlook 2003?
If so, try the following -- it seems to work for many:

To get the News command back on the Go menu, go back to the Programs tab in
Control Panel | Internet Options and change the default newsreader to
Outlook Express. If OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the
next time you launch it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and
then click the No button.

You may need to reset the Menu Bar and/or restart Outlook and/or reboot your
machine in order to complete the process. Not everyone is reporting success
with this method, but try it and see what happens. If all else fails, you
can always create a desktop shortcut to Outlook Express and include the
/newsonly switch -- that gives you the same result as accessing the
newsreader via the News command in Outlook.
