"problem opening"...

once my computer has been on for 5 minutes a message pops
up saying "problem opening C:/windows/temp -34". My
start button and entire bottom menu disappears
 
the problem is persisting

What does a scan with your current antivirus (using updated definitions)
show? Also, remove spyware with Spybot S&D and/or Ad- aware. Delete
Temporary and Temporary Internet Files. Does the problem persist? If
yes, please post back with more details.
