I can not open embedded links in all web documents. With
some links I get an error message: "Windows cannot
find...." Sometimes the ..... is a number and sometime it
is a web address. Under the error message is a blank IE
screen with the IE symbol and 'M' in the address bar. If
i minimize this screen and single click the link, it
opens. Sometimes the webpage opens when I initially
double click i but there is the blank page underneath. It
appears that I have the wrong associatons somewhere. How
do I identify them and how do I change them. I have ex
[plored the File types menue and can not identify those
that are opening withthe wrong program.

Can anyone help?

No luck in finding corrective action from your post.
Exact error messsage is: from Windows Explorer: The
path 'end of address, usually a number' does not exist or
is not a directory." Seems that when I click a link
(sometimes) windows explorer is trying to open web site
rather than Internet Explorer.

The secret is often in the exact error message.
