I just got a brand new hard drive, installed it and was trying to load XP, when i first tried to install it gave me a STOP error, so i restarted, the second time, its getting to a point where it asks if i want to create a partition then press C. Thats it!!! it hangs there forever!! i tried to million times, but the same thing happens. Any ideas?

What type of Hard Drive?
Does your BIOS recognize it? As a valid boot drive?
Was there a driver diskette with your controller/motherboard?

I think my bios recognizes it too, coz in the primary slave eide it gives (WDc WD0080) think wd= western digital. Not only that windows xp even asks me if i want to create a partition with the maximum siize(80GB)(actually it gets until this part!!!) so i assume it recognizes it. any ideas

Possible jumper misconfiguration or motherboard BIOS issue - you may need to
flash your BIOS, depending on what it supports.
