Based on your original post, I gathered you installed a new
128MB RAM module in your HP computer that already
had a 512MB RAM module installed. Afterward you said
you received an error message and removed the 512MB
RAM module and installed a 256MB RAM module and
did not encounter an error message.
Is that not the sequence of events you originally posted?
Your Original Post Stated:
"Been trying to install a PC-133 128mg ram chip in my system (WinXP
home, HP Pavilion 7915, 1.1 GHZ) I
checked my mobo stats and I have the right chip.
However, once I install it and boot up, I get an error message about a
missing or
corrupted driver: System32/drivers/pci.sys.
Take the 512 chip out and put the 256 back in and away it goes."
