I have been trying to install a new Version of Windows XP
over Windows 98SE. Tried 4 times, keep getting error
message 535FF58h, another version of this product is
already running. If they mean Windows 98SE. There is
definately not another version of Windows XP on my
computer.

What version of Windows XP did you purchase, a "retail"
or "OEM" version?

.
Sounds like a memory problem. Try removing one of your
memory chips.
