Problem in Win XP (Home)

Hi, for a cuppla weeks now, we have been receiving an
error message whenever logging on to WIN XP (H).

The error states that windows cannot
locate "winstart32.exe", and if we click "ok", windows
appears to run normally - except for the fact that if you
press Ctrl-Alt-Del to open Task Manager, you can very
briefly see the Task Manager screen open, but it then
immediately disappears.

I have been advised that this "winstart32.exe" thingy is a
symptom of a worm (from memory W32.HLLW.Purol). I found
info about this one on the Symantec site, but couldn't on
CA (VET), and am getting confused!

We also had issues where IE6 wouldn't run normally, but by
doing a system restore (going back a week), and then
running the sfc /scannow command, this appears to have
been rectified.

Wondering if anyone can help - I would really value your
input!

Cheers
Lynn
