Problem in running Acrobat 6.0 with windows XP

I have been running Acrobat 6.0 under Windows XP.
Suddenly, Acrobat stopped working! It halt before trying
to load its initialization files. I removed and
reinstalled it several times, but no way. I tried other
copies like the free acrobat pdf reader, but the problem
still exists. Finally, I've upgraded the windows using
the same CD, but it doesn't help. Has anybody faced this
before? Is there any solution other than completely
removing windows and reinstall it?

Install the .1 update available for version 6.0. Is this the reader or
writer?

Uninstall / reinstall it. Check on the Adobe web site for tech support.
