problem in Data Sharing in win xp (help me)

HI

I am facing a problem in win xp.

I have 2 desktop pc both's os is win xp and both are connected by hub ( i.e
local network.
Problem is:
I have an application which data are stored in one pc and share by another.

IN PC1 If I store data and accessed from PC2 and read/write no problem
arise its working fine.
but if i store data in PC2 and accessed from PC1 then data are avaiable for
read-only its giving error when i try to write records.

I check share folder and give access to network user to change file.. but
still i am getting the same problem.

Sanjib,

Not knowing what your mysterious application is, I will presume that it uses
normal Windows Networking for file sharing.

Are the computers using XP Home or Pro? If Pro, are they using Simple, or
Classical File Sharing? This makes a big difference here. You have to setup
both computers properly for file sharing, and presumably for your application,
to work.

Both computer using win xp pro sp2, and using simple file sharing.
I am using vfp application. The same app. is working another area with 6 pcs
its has no problems but in current location only 2pc but gives problems. in
writing data.
kindly advice me what are the things i have to check and how to check simple
or classical file sharing.
