Hello, I'm not sure to which NG this post should be made so I'm posting to
this and also to a BTO Broasdband NG. Following a system failure I
reinstalled Windows XP, over the existing WinXP however I cannot create a
network/dialup connection for BTOBroadband. When I attemptin to make a new
connection the only option I have is for a "permanently on" ADSL connection.
BTopenworld Broadband needs to be connected each time BTopenworld tell me
that this is common for users of WinXP and that only a fresh/formatted
installation will work. Surely this can't be so. Has anyone else had this
problem & how was it solved please?

TIA

You might find it pays to get the latest drivers for the 'modem' - if it
was the 'Alcatel green frog'. at www.speedtouch.com/support.htm
(the top one).

You should then be able to set up a regular dial up connection - in
which it will appear as an 'ISDN' modem. Once done, I made a shortcut
to the connection in the Startup folder
