Problem aftr installing XP

Hi,

I'd Windows ME, & installed XP, but I've made some
mistakes while installing.
I just wanted to upgrade to XP & keep all my prev. data &
applications as is. But while installing I think I
selected the option to install XP (may be I shd've gone
for the option upgrade XP.but I was'nt sure....it was
upgrade to XP or just upgrade XP)

Then while installing it said there was already a Windows
folder & asked if I wanted to replace it....all the prev
data wld go away, so I installed it to another
file....named it WinXP

SO NOW THE PROBLEM IS that I have to Windows installed
(ME & XP) in the same partition & although all my prev
data is there, neither of my applications are working!!
It asks me to re-install all the applications!!!
Is there a way to get around????

Why don't you just start over and select the upgrade options for
WinMe. Then after the install is finished
you will have two versions of WinXP. Check here for further
instructions on the removal of one of them

Thnx for ur reply!!
but....I'd obtained a one-time install only students copy
from my university.so I cannot re-install!!!!
Any other suggestions???
