problem after clean install

I recently did a clean install after my computer crashed.

Now, when I start it up, instead of going to the Windows XP screen, I get a
line at the bottom of the screen which looks like this:

||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

It lasts about 7 seconds, THEN goes to the Windows XP screen.

Does anyone know what is causing this? The OS is booting from the Internal
HHD.

That happened to me too but it soon went away and this was six months
ago or so and no problem with that machine since. You've got XP Home per
chance?

SOmetimes happens to me too in case of power cut. May be it is related to
hibernation. Turn that off and then try to boot,

That machine has never had hibernation enabled.

That line is absolutely normal. On some systems it will go by so fast
you never see it, but on most you will see it when you first start to
boot before it goes to the logo screen.
