I have reinstalled Windows XP as a repair installation to
hopefully preserve all data and settings. The computer
previously would not boot due to damage by either a worm
or the removal of same. Now I can get to the logon screen
but I can't log on...error message "This copy of windows
must be activated with Microsoft before you can log on. Do
you want to log on now?" When I click yes, I go to a blank
screen and hang!
Is there a way to by-pass the login screen so that I can
activate windows and then be able to log on? I tried safe
mode, but I can't activate from safe mode.
