I have 11 cells with $2500.00, If I select them the footer bar showes
the right answer ($27500) but the cell showes $37500. If I set a cell
equal to the sum cell times 1.0 it gives $37500. So my confidence is
pretty low in the over all spread sheet. Any work arounds for this??

so which cell has the formula for these 11 rows? e.g. A1:A11 each have
2500 in them and A12 shows =sum(A1:A11) Is that what you have?

Is it possible that you have a total showing which had a previous
value and the total has just not been re-calculated?
You can select A1:A11 and indeed see the total, but if calculation is
set to manual the total in A12 can still show as wrong.
Shift+F9 on the sheet to see if that changes the total.

Post back with more data, and with the formula you are using.

Most likely there is something unusual about one or both of them; or possibly
you have recalculate set to manual and the 37500 reflects a prior calculation.

You may want to share the formula that returned 37500.

And you may want to verify that you have excel in automatic calculation mode.
