Two questions:
Firstly, my computer could not allow me to acess it. I
tried restore (it gave me the impression that it was
restored)but still failed to log me in. I had files which I
had declared private, I can't access them because they are
private. Ihave since reinstalled without format my Xp home
ed. How do I access these files? Is there a tools to help
me do this.

Secondly, I'm running my internet browser, I get a message
telling me that my program has performed an illegal
operation and therefore it will be closed. I initially
thought it was the Internet Explorer, which I removed and
installed Netscape. Same thing happened. I have tried even
with Mozilla and Opera. I used to get the same thing with
MS Office (no longer using it). What could be the problem?

Hi,

1) HOW TO: Take Ownership of a File or Folder in Windows XP [Q308421]
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308421

2) Reinstall IE6 by pasting this command into a start/run prompt:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\Inf\ie.inf
