I have Word 2002 and Windows XP. When I use autotext to insert "page x of y" in a footer, the print view on the computer shows each page footer is number correctly. However, the printed document shows "1 of 1", "2 of 2" etc. It has only recently started doing this. Then today, I edited text in a document, and the print view on the computer showed the text as edited, but the printed version did not. What can I do to correct this?

For the "page x of y" problem, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/PageXofY.htm.

Regarding the "print view on the computer showed the text as edited, but
the printed version did not" problem... are you saying:

a. that you see "tracked changes" (e.g., inserted text in color,
deleted text either in strikeout or in balloons in the margin, change
bars in margin) on screen, but the printed document shows only the final
text without the markups? If so, click on File | Print | Print what:
Document showing markup.

or

b. that you revised the text, but the printed document shows the
original unchanged text? If so, I'm not exactly sure what would cause
this, but try disabling "allow fast saves" in Tools | Options | Save.
