I am using WXP/SP2 on a laptop.

During an attempt to print out an article from Internet, the printspooler
(spoolsv.exe) went down and cannot be restarted. How can it be persuaded?
(I guess there is a buffer content somewhere that should be emptied ... but
where and how?)

Go to Start>Run Type in services.msc. Browse to Print spooler select it and
choose to stop the service and then restart the service.

I have tried that a number of times - after a few seconds I get a message
telling that the printspooler will be shut down because of an error. Then it
goes down again.

Restart the computer.
