I copied a web page by using Print Screen on to my Word Pad. When I tried to print Word Pad I only get the right side of the text. I cannot highlight the text or move it. How do I print the full page. Thanks Bill

When using the browser print button I still only get part of the page. It is the left side not the right side that was an error in my original message. Also the print preview shows the partial page. Thanks

Hi again Bill,

I'm sort of leaning toward your printer driver being the culprit here.
Would it be hard for you to first uninstall your printer then do a
reinstall? I'm assuming your printer used to work like you expect it to
again.

Printer works fine in all other applications. When I click print preview it shows me only the left side will print. I'm wrong in say left side it 85% of the page prints, I only lose about 10 characters on the right side. Thanks

Hi again,

OK, I'd somehow thought your printer was running stupid in other places
too.

You originally wrote......When I tried to print Word Pad I only get the
right side of the text. I cannot highlight the text or move it.

Looking back I think I now see the problem. When you hit the Print
Screen button, you're not really grabbing the text off the page, you're
really taking a picture of the page. You can see this by opening a paint
type program and using paste in there. It'll paste a picture of what was
showing on your screen when you first hit your print screen button.

You can't highlight the text after a paste because it's not really text,
it's a picture of text, or whatever else was showing what the print
screen button was hit.

To grab text for printing, don't screw with your print screen button at
all, it only worked like you think it should back before Windoze, the
DOS daze. Drag and highlight what you want to print and use the CTRL+C
key combination, then CTRL+V to paste.

If you're trying to print a web page just hitting your browsers print
button should work well enough there.

Sorry about the bad information. There was 65 pages at the web site and I only wanted 3 pages. If I use the Browsers print button I would get all 65 pages? Thanks Also at that web site instead of a cursur there was a hand and I could not click and drag.

Hi again,

Have you tried grabbing what you want to print from the web pages
source? If you view the source for a web page you can highlight and use
CTRL+C and Ctrl+V for copying and pasting, the mouse won't right click
in a source view. I've also downloaded web pages, dropped them into my
HTML editor and deleted everything I didn't want to save for use later.

My printer options include "print pages from [ ] to [ ]. I can just
enter in the page block I want to print, say, pages 17 through 48. The
only time I've found it useful is when my printer needs a refill, I'll
rejuice it and resume where the printing got light.

You're welcome! I hope you get your problem straightened out, I'm
working around a few of my own so I know what you're up against.
