Print in landscape mode.
Reason: Most people have their resolution set at 1024 x 768 as monitors are
larger than they used to be.... 17" now being the smallest most folks will
even consider. I have a 21" monitor, my husband has a 19" monitor... my
Server has a 17" and because it's a server and sits in the corner of the
room being a server, that monitor is at 800 x 600. It's also a ten year old
monitor and until it finally blows its top, it won't be replaced!
A standard letter sized page likes the 800x600 resolution ... because it
fits on the page.
Most webdesigners design their page so that it looks best at 1024 x 768,
for the first mentioned reason.
1024 x 768 won't fit on a standard letter sized page.
Most webdesigners (myself included) do not want to totally redesign their
pages so it fits on a standard letter sized page. They design their sites
to be viewed on a monitor, not printed on a page.
Solution:
If "Fit to Page" doesn't work for you, print the page in landscape mode.
