Hello

WXP PC at home (PCHOME) through VPN can remote desktop to a WXP at work
(PCWORK). I want to be able to print from an application running on the
PCWORK to the printer configured on the PCHOME whilst remotely connected.

The printers box is ticked on the local resources part of the PCHOME RDC

I have seen in other setups a printer in the PCWORK printers and faxes
folder "Printername (on PCHOME)", but not in this particular setup - only a
local printer attached to PCWORK is listed.

Does the printer attached to PCHOME have to be installed on the PCWORK PC?
Does the orinter onPCHOME have to be shared? This is not part of a domain,
but the fact that I can remote desktop ok suggests basic network is correct?

Anyone help with what I'm doing wrong

Thanks

Confused,

You must install the drivers for PCHOME printer on PCWORK.
----------
1. Remote to PCWORK and run the Add Printer Wizard...

2. Next

3. Select "Local Printer" and remove the tick from "Automatically detect
...."

4. Next

5. In "Use the following port:" scroll down to one of the terminal services
ports that will be named TS001, TS002 etc.

6. Next

7. Click Have Disk and browse to where the printer driver is located (best
if it is a local folder to PCWORK)

8. From here onwards follow normal steps to install printer.
