Printing #'s

I have a spreadsheet that shows the numbers in the spreadsheet but when I do
print preview and print all it prints in a column is #########. I tried auto
fit and all that but it didn't work...any suggestions?
 
First insure that the column is wide enough. If this doesn't work, try
formatting the cell as general.
 
Gary"s Student, you seem to know about Excel. Please help if you can. I am
making a client list and would like the Excel spreadsheet I make to auto
number my lines so I can tell the number of clients I have. How do I get the
numbers at the left to print out and if I add or delete a line will it auto
re number the lines. Tks again for your knowledge.
