I have windows XP. My printer is a HP Deskjet 870Cxi I
changed my Black ink cartridge for a new one, did cleanup
and all. But I cannot get acceptable results when
printing. My color is OK when testing but the black ink
printing is worsening (I get horizontal white lines
accross the words) . How do I solve this mysterious
problem?

At this point in time, you probably want to think about purchasing a new
printer.

Victor,
Open the front cover so the cartridge moves to the center and then
look at the pad on the right hand side of the printer. The cartridge
is parked there when not printing. The pad is probably all inked up
and filling the jet holes so they can't eject the ink. That causes
white streaks or white lines.
Cheers,
Don
