Matt

I recently installed SP2. My operating system is XP Home
addition. After the install, I tried to print however my
computer did not recognize my printer as being
connected. I have a Canon Multipass F60. After
uninstalling SP2 the computer recognized the printer as
being connected and printed as usual. Any thoughts as to
the underlying problem?

Disconnect the printer - and all peripherals except for your keyboard, mouse
and monitor - before you install SP 2.

Dont uninstall,thiers a driver conflict(s) with many 3rd party add-ons,
canon in particular. However according to canon, they say that for the
F60,they've already made a fix for SP2.Download the update at canons
web-site...

PROBLEM SOLVED ! PROBLEM SOLVED ! PROBLEM SOLVED !
MPC190 / MPC200 + XPSP2 : unable to explore myComputer + unable to
connect to printer or scan. I suppose it solves similar problems with
a lot of canon printers.

Edit C:\WINDOWS\system32\MpNetIpc.ini
Change 127.0.0.2 to 127.0.0.1
(because XP SP2 does not allow loopback on other address)
That'all... and it works !

Enjoy,
Jerome.

Thanks for the follow up. I am not sure why it had 127.0.0.2 but I suspect
the hotfix would also fix it.

Hi, i am using Cannon MPC190 printer, how do i change the setting to the one
you given below? When i open the link you given below, it comes out to be a
notepad and by changing to 127.0.0.1 my printer still can't print any
documents.

Please advise.

After installing SP2, I could not operate my new HP Laser Jet 1150 printer.
Any possible clue to a solution ? I tried to remove SP2, and nothing happened
!
