printing forms to file?

I have an Access program that, in the end, prints out forms (Bill Of
Material for each part on a list/query) on a local printer. I need to be
able to somehow have a 3rd party print the same thing without having the
actual database at their location. I've tried printing to a file, which it
does, but the file doesn't seem to be able to be opened and then printed by
another user. Is another way to accomplish this? Maybe set up a simple Db
for the user with just the form necessary and a table to insert the data
into?

Thanks,
David

That is certainly one possiblity (and not a bad one at that). Two others
occur to me:

1) Get a PDF writer. Acrobat has a PDF writer that you can buy which is
installed as a printer driver. Then you Print it to this printer driver and
it is written to a file that anyone with Acrobat Reader (which is free) can
read. There are other PDF writers available out on the web. Do a Google
search.

2) Another option is to reproduce the form as a Report. Then you can save
it as a SNP file. This is a Snapshot file that can be read by a standalone
produce that Microsoft makes call the Snapshot reader. This is essentially
the same as the above scenerio, except the Snapshot Reader is not as widely
used.

There is a Snapshot Viewer available for download from Microsoft and freely
distributable to your customers.

You can print your reports as snapshots and then send them and the viewer to
your customer.
