Hi all. I am having a heck of a time printing envelopes correctly and
I'm not sure why. I have an HP 3820 which prints everything else just
fine. I can set up the Open Office Writer to use #10 envelope as the
paper size and get all the text looking pretty and in the right places
on the screen. If I go to print preview it all looks great. So I go
to the Print dialog and it says that the envelope is configured for
portrait mode. Not correct, so I switch it over to Landscape mode.
Then I go ahead and press print. HP pops up its own print preview box
and somehow it is back in portrait mode. The HP preview utility will
not let me change the print settings and tells me to go fix it in the
program that I'm printing from. Sure enough, when I go back to
OpenOffice, it has reset itself back to portrait mode. It seems like
the action of pressing the print button resets the landscape/portrait
option. How the heck do I fix this??? Is it an HP problem or an
OpenOffice problem? Anyone else seen anything similar and if so, were
you able to fix it? thanks in advance for any help.
