Printing a book

I have a book that I’m working on that I want to self print. I am using Word 2003 and I have a LaserJet 8000 with a duplexer installed. What I want to do is print out 4 8½†X 5½†panels on one 8½†X 11†sheet of paper which I will then cut apart into two sheets, interleave, and bind. The problem is that I can’t find a setting or combination of settings that will align page 1 on the front panel and 2 on the back, and page 3 on the second front panel 4 on the second back panel and so on. So in other words I need a print sequence that will give me page 1 and 3 on the from side of the paper from the paper printed in landscape format left to the right side, and page 3 to 4 on the back, again, left to right. I could forget about duplexing and just run the paper through the printer multiple times, but that seems like a monumental waste of time since the printer has duplex capability. Any ideas? Thanks
