I am having problems with the printer in our lab and the
message that comes up is that the print spooler service is
not running. So, what do I need to do in order to get
this working? These are new computers, Dell with XP,
Pentium. They are all connected to an ethernet
connection. I am not sure what other information is
needed to answer my question but would you let me know?

Much appreciated,
Thanks,
Beth

you can simply start and stop the spooler from a CMD prompt by typing
NET START SPOOLER
NET STOP SPOOLER

Also try opening the Printers folder in Control Panel and right click in an empty part of
it, select Server Properties, Advanced and move the Spool folder location to a pre
configured alternative location, stop and start the spooler to set the new location.
