I recently upgraded to XP Home Edition from ME. When I
installed HP 3100 Office Suite printer software, it
doesn't allow the computer to hibernate or go into standby
mode. The message I get is "The device driver for the
printer port logical interface device is preventing the
machine from entering standby." Any ideas on how to
correct this?

I encountered the same problem.
You need to order a newer version from HP - it is only
available on CD (you cannot download it). Go to support
and downloads on www.hp.com and search on 3100. The
description is somewhat confusing but a message off to
one side on the download page tells you that it is not
available. If you click thru, you go to a CD order page
and the XP version (English) is the second of three
options you can choose (prod no. C3948-60133 ver. 1.0)
Good luck.

Follow the steps below
