Printer issues

I have 2 problems:

1. My Lexmark z43 printer is not recognized by the port
it is connected to (lpt1). I have installed the newest
drivers and have done it correctly, but the device
manager dows not show Lexmark as a printer at all, and I
get an error that the computer is unable to communicate
with the printer. The printer on port lpt1 is an ECP
Printer "slot" according to the Device manager.

2. The Device manager continues to show an "Unsupported
device" under "Other devices". This "Other devices"
section is directly under Microsoft ACPI-Comliant
system. I cannot tell what this device is, or how to fix
the compliance issue.

Ok, with the help of someone in MS support ( a very helpful person named Marcus), I found out that all I had to do was change the ECP to EPP for the Parallel port in the Bios set up. Now the printer works

However, problem number 2 still stands. Also, the device manager does not list my Lexmark printer, and LPT 1 still says it is an ECP printer. Anyone know how I can get the device manager to agree?
