Print the data only on a Word 2007

How do I just print the data only on a Word 2007 form?

When I choose options -> advanced -> "print only data from a form", then try
to print, it still prints the boxes around the form.

In Word 2003 it was different - the printed document only contained the
data from a form, without the form boxes around.

Could you please let me know a way to overcome this issue.

Chris

What buttons did you use to create the "boxes" on the form?

Hi Cindy,

I created a document in Word 2003 that could be used to overprint a printed
form in the printer, where only the data was printed, but not the table
itself. To do this:

In Word 2003, I added the Forms Toolbar, using View, Toolbars, Form

I then built a Table and added Text Form Fields and Check Box Form Fields.

I clicked Tools, Options, Print and ticked "Print Data Only For Forms"

I locked the form and saved it.

In Word 2003 when I printed the form, only the data printed on the page.

However when you try to print the same form from Word 2007, there is no way
to print only the data without the entire table also printing out.

This is no use, as I don't want my table outline to print over the form I am
trying to overprint.

I hope this is clearer now.

Chris

Go into your document and go to format, then borders and shades, this is
where you will be able to select how you want your document to look either
with a border around it or not.

That's a good point, but the idea of the form is that they can see on the
screen a representation of the table.

If I ask them to firstly remove the borders before printing, it is a job, as
each table is positioned in a separate text box.

Like I said, the behaviour of Word 2003 and Word 2000 was such that the
table itself was ignored and only the form data printed.

The only way we have worked round this so far is to make the table border so
light (Red 235, Blue 235, Green 235) so it won't be visible when printed onto
the real form.

I just wish Microsoft would change the behaviour back to how it was for Word
2007.

I meant how it was before Word 2007!

I think this might be what you're looking for. Click the Office button, then
Word Options. In the Advanced tab, scroll down to "When printing this
document" (about 80% towards the bottom of the dialog), and enable the
"Print only the data from a form" option.

Thanks for getting back to me. I already found this and have it ticked.

It prevents the Words in the table being printed, but it still prints the
outline of the table itself.

I honestly think this problem won't be fixed until the developers fix it for
SP1.

I only hope they read this post, or someone can forward it to them.
