print startup tab of msconfig

If you use a screen capture utility to get a PICTURE of the appropriate tab
of msconfig, you should then be able to print the picture easily enough
using the standard methods.

I have Gadwin Print Screen on my computer and used it just now to capture
images of the start tab of msconfig. The pictures created by the screen
capture are jpegs and were written to my hard drive in a directory that you
can see within Gadwin. From there, it should be dead easy to just
right-click on the jpeg and click on Print.

However, please be advised that you will almost certainly need to do SEVERAL
screen captures. The msconfig panel only shows you a fixed number of entries
on each screen and I don't know any way to change that. You will likely need
to click PrintScreen when displaying the first page of entries, then move
the scroll bar down to see the next entries, click on PrintScreen again to
get the second page worth, etc. until you have all of the entries. Also, the
entries themselves are wider than can be readily seen in the dialog so, if
you need to see the entire registry key value (which is in the Location
column), you are probably going to need to widen that column (by dragging
the right edge of the column header for the Location column to the right to
see it all. Then, you will find that you get a scrollbar on the bottom of
the screen too. You will likely find that you can't see the entire entry in
a single screen capture. If that is the case, you will have to do a print
screen of the left-hand part of the page, then scroll to the right,and do a
second screen capture of the right hand part of the page. That's going to
get a little tedious.....

To get a screenshot from a single window you only need the key
combination "Alt +Print"

When I need to see Startup information, I only want to ask one
question and leave nothing open to interpretation, typos, etc. I like
to get a screenshot of the CCleaner Startup information. It displays
more on one screen, is easy to read and interpret, easy to email,
post, print, etc.

If you have more than fits on one screen, that would be a lot. As you
can see from the example from my system, zero startup items is
attainable:

Here is what I request be done when I need to see some general purpose
Startup information:

Download CCleaner, install it, run it, click Tools, Startup and drag
the columns around so all the Startup items are easy to see.
CCleaner is good for this since it shows more information in a bigger
display and has other useful functions. You can uninstall CCleaner if
you don't use it.

When you are done, we will be able to see what you are seeing.

To create and email/post/print a screenshot:

Press the Print Scrn button to copy your entire screen to the Windows
clipboard.

Press Alt Print Scrn to copy just the active window to the Windows
clipboard.

Open MS Paint:

Start, Program Accessories, Paint

When Paint opens, press CTRL-V to paste the clipboard, save the new
Paint file to your desktop or someplace you can remember. JPG files
take up less hard disk space than BMP files and just as readable.

Make as many screenshots as you need. Practice makes perfect. Be
careful your screenshot does not contain any personal information.
Practice viewing your images before you upload them to be sure they
are okay.

Some sites will let you attach a file directly to your post. If the
site has some kind of attachment/upload function it is usually easiest
just to use it.

If there is no such function in your message board to upload files,
then use a free third party image hosting WWW site.

Create a free account on some free picture hosting web site. You can
always remove your account later if you want. Here are some free
image hosting sites:

Using your free account, upload your screenshot(s) (the JPG or BMP
files) to the site and it will return to you a URL web address (a
Direct Link) for your new image(s) which you can paste the Direct Link
in a message post, email, etc.

When you are done, what you post for others to use should look
something like this:

CCleaner Startup

Post that Direct Link web address back here in your response and we
can click on the link address and see your screenshot. Post as many
as you need - the sites are free.
