Print spooler services not working after attempted printer del/add

My Dell printer wouldn't scan so Dell support uninstalled and reinstalled the
printer drivers (I doubted this would be a fix but had to go through it). In
this process there was an error which said the install failed due to an RPC
failure. Now you cannot install a printer due to "print spooler services not
running" I have gone through the adm services to start it, I have done the
net spool start cmd. One Msoft thing said there might be a registry
dependson item, but all that is there is RPCSS which I thought was supposed
to be there. i'm getting desparate, I went from not scanning to not printing
either. Dell is supposed to call back, but I have little faith. Thanks.

I seem to remember a problem related to a Lexmark driver used by Dell, which
gloms on to your computer and can't be uninstalled. Nice, huh?

There is a way to fix it, if indeed that's what your problem is.
Unfortunately, I don't remember what it is. (In any case, that was a couple
years ago and it might be fixed now. Or maybe not.) But you might try an
internet search for Lexmark driver problems as well as for Dell. Keep
looking. The truth is out there.

Well I spent another 3 hours with Dell printer support without getting my
printer back. They did a system restore to before the problem but not sure
what that restores . Then they did 3 attempts at installing the printer.

After the first attempt I got the message at reboot of : cannot find
windows/system32/spool/drivers/w32x86/3/dlccpswx.exe
(not sure why it looks in directory 3 as there is a dlccpswx.exe in that
directory and in the 924 printer directory) also if it looked there I don't
know why it said it couldn't find. Also I don't know what this program does
and a search on Msoft didn't find it. (MMMM lot of I don't knows in this,
but I really need some help here before I try to tackle Dell support people
again.) Last time I hada problem I ended up totally rebuilding my system. No
fun. Thanks in advance for any help.
