Print Spooler Not Running

When I try to print I get this message about the print spooler not running.
When I try to re install the printer I get "Operation could not be
completed" as soon as I click the Add Printer icon.
Any suggestion?

find any info that helped on the windows web site.
Looking forward to someone answering Pauls question!!!
 
net start spooler did not work for mine but I ran msconfig and under the
services tab was an empty box for LexBce Server. I put a check in the box
and now everything is fine.
