PrtScn copies full desktop to Windows Clipboard
Alt-PrtScn copies active window to Windows Clipboard

Far as I know, ctrl-alt-PrtScn does nothing.

You will see nothing visible happening when you do this. Paste from
Clipboard (Menu: Edit/Paste or Ctrl-V keys) into an application that can
accept an image, e.g. Word, Wordpad, Paint, etc. to see what your screen
shot. Run the clipboard viewing program clpbrd.exe to see the clipboard
contents. More help on this, including what I just told you, available
in Windows Help.

I have tried both PrtScn and Alt-PrtScn and followed your
instructions. Trying to paste into Word 2000. No go. Any
more suggestions?

Did you startup the clipbrd program to see if that works, and maybe
display the clipboard? Maybe it's Word that's broken. Try pasting into
Wordpad and Paint.

I can only conclude that your keyboard is flawed, or the keyboard driver
is flawed, or the basic XP OS is flawed. Do what you can to debug the
keyboard (try swapping with someone else).

Lastly, search this newsgroup (via Google) and Google as whole to see if
someone else faced and solved this problem.
