My ink cartridge is running out of ink very quickly. I have heard you can reduce the amount of ink that is used. There is a setting somewhere that can reduce the ink to "medium" or something like that. Can anyone direct me to where this setting is

Thank you

Depends on whether you're printing to an inkjet or laser printer. Not
an option for any inkjet I've used, but yes for every laser printer I've
used. Generally speaking, click on File | Print, select the printer,
click on Properties, then something like Printing Preferences | Advanced
| Draft Quality or Light Density or Save Toner. The exact menu choices
vary depending on the printer driver.

With an inkjet printer, make sure that under the printer properties, you
have plain paper selected. Special purpose inkjet papers have a special
coating that allows the ink to be absorbed into the coating without
spreading and the printer then applies more ink to get a richer effect.
With the setting to plain paper, they don't deposit so much ink as to do so
would result in unacceptable spreading.

Inkjets are designed to use lots of ink - that's how the printer
manufacturers make their money. Contrary to what they will tell you, you can
use cloned printer cartridges with no ill effect for a fraction of the
price.
