In Word I am unable to find how to enable "open previosly used files" or
words to that effect.
I have checked in "options" but cannot see it there.
When I used it previouly I was able to select the number of files last used,
which would be available for me to select when starting WORD.

TIA

It's on the General tab of Tools | Options.

Thanks Suzanne, but as I stated it was not where you stated, on my options.
The answer was.... It was in my TwakUI utility, where I had wrongly unticked
"Add new document to documents on STARTUP" , which is on the IE tab.

Now ok, since I have ticked the above mentioned.

I have never heard of the option not being there. I have frequently heard of
its being disabled by the use of TweakUI settings, but that is not what you
described.

Suzanne
Forgive me for not explaining fully...the Tools/Options were there, but at
the time I had no option for "recent files" until I ticked the relative box
in TweakUI.!!!
All back to "normal" now thank you.

Terry
