I had a document named Arthur Aug. 2006. I wanted to keep the same format and
set up the Sept. Version. Instead of opening the document and using "Save As"
and creating the Sept. document, I changed the document name, erased the old
information, added new, and hit save. Only then did I realize what I had
done. I have lost my Aug. information. Is there a way that I can recover this
information?

If the document has not been closed since the ill-fated Save, you can use
Undo repeatedly to remove the changes and restore the old document contents.
Unfortunately, if you closed the document, all the undo information has
evaporated.

If the "Always create backup copy" option is checked in Tools > Options >
Save, you'll find a file named "Backup of <document name>.wbk" in the same
folder. Depending on how many times you saved, that may or may not contain
the old information.

To prepare for the next time, see
