I can't find ANY of my previous posts using the find function and some were
as recently as a week or so ago. Is there something I don't have checked or
set in the toolbar or ??? Any ideas?
Thank You

Well this leaves me in a bit of a quandary: I am wondering whether you'll
find my reply.....

Try doing a Google search, using the
http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en page.... just paste the
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general into the group title field, and put your
posting name in the Find field.

I did that, and found 3 pages of posts (about 30 altogether), several of
them marked "Test".

Give up trying to use OE for this and go directly to groups.google.com,
which has search functions that actually work (and fast too).

Hey, that worked great...Thank You! Why I don't get these using the Outlook
Express find feature I do not understand.

Glad that helped.... here are some other things to try, while in OE....

1) consider downloading and using OETool...
http://www.oehelp.com/OETool/Default.aspx it's a free (and ad-free) client
that adds some cool little features to basic OE
The primary feature I like about it, is that you can go into an NG via OEs
newsreader, then, with the click of a button, have it sort out all messages
that you have not posted or replied to.... it makes it very easy to find
your messages - and the replies of people to them.

Just install the tool, launch OE, then launch the OETool and wait about a
second.... it will add a new toolbar.... if you mouse-over each button, it
will tell you what it does....

Then select one of the newsgroups you subscribe to, click the filter button,
and viola! You'll see all of your posts in *that* NG, and any replies.
(Note: it works based on what account info you've currently got in the
account settings for that news server, so if you post using an alias (or
several)... it will only show those messages involving that alias...)

2) I noticed your email address looks real.... consider at least putting in
"NOSPAM" (or something equally obvious) somewhere in it... to throw
webcrawlers that harvest email addresses off... or better yet, consider a
bogus email address.... there's almost no need to put your real one in
there.... unless you're asking for Spam.... If you do change that... it
will affect the OETool, since the filter part only seeks based on what's in
your account fields at the time you run it.... you *can* change it on the
fly, though, if you want..... If this doesn't make sense now, it will when
you become familiar with the tool... should you choose to use it.

Have fun!

I'll give that a try! Thank You
