I am making changes to a webpage in the design view and when I change to the
preview view there is a delay of 20 seconds. I am using FP2003; publishing to
my local hard drive; and using XP SP2.

Close FrontPage.
Copy and paste the following in either Start > Run or the IE address bar and click Ok or Go:

%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir

And in the folder that opens delete any and all files found.

Then use windows search and find files named *.web and delete all found.

Then delete your temporary internet files and history files.

Reopen FrontPage and your web and see if there's an improvement.

Hi Steve... I tried your suggestions. There were no files to delete. I didn't
find anything with *.web. I deleted my internet temp files and history...
still no change. I am wondering if it has anything to do with Shared Borders.
The page loads in a couple of seconds but it takes another 20 seconds to load
the Shared Borders. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Did you search for hidden system files?

There has to be a *.web file somewhere. It's usually here:

%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache

Delete it, then open FrontPage and the web and recalculate hyperlinks.
