Preview Pane option is grayed out

The number one reason it always helps to post your version.

View->Preview Pane.

2000 doesn't have a reading pane - it has the preview pane.

Are you using outlook at home or at work?

Outlook 2000 on Windows XP....the Preview Pane is greyed out....I have gone
to VIEW then PREVIEW PANE. Any other options? thanks
