Prefetch Folder

I recently noticed on my laptop which is running Windows
XP Pro with SP2 that the prefetch folder under the windows
folder is missing. I checked the registry to make sure
that prefetching was enabled and it was. I also checked to
make sure that the folder wasn't hidden. Is there a way to
get the prefetch folder back or am I fine without it?

Windows prefetching is also dependent upon the "Task Scheduler" service. Is
this "disabled" or "manual"? It must be set to automatic.

Hi James,

Set Task Scheduler to Automatic and/or go to Start/Run and paste this line
in:
rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks
