Predetermined text

I am trying to figure out how to turn off the predetermined text feature on
on computer. For example if I start typing in a search and I press the letter
A all of the searches I previously tried that starts with A appear. I really
don't ant that option how to I eliminate it?

Search within Windows:

Clear Search History under Search (Line 24)

Manual Edit:

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru

To prevent keeping a history altogether, right click ACMru/Permissions/Deny
all users and groups listed.

Search within IE:

Clear IE History, AutoComplete, Clear the TIF, Clear the RunMRU, Typed URL's
and Clear List (depending on which Start Menu you are using): Right click
the Start button/Properties/Customize/Advanced/Recent Documents/Clear List.
