I have a general knowledge question.
Let's say I have installed Office 200x.
Over time, I've applied all the patches from Microsoft for the product.
I encounter a problem and some component in the software no longer works.
I run DETECT & REPAIR to resolve the problem. I use my install cd when
prompted.
I revisit the Microsoft update site and I'm told there are no new updates to
apply.
If my installation was repaired from the installation cd, wouldn't that mean
that I should have been told I have to reapply all the patches published
since the product version baseline? So what kind of configuration do I
actually in this scenario?
Thank you.
