Hi Gang,

I would like to make a FULL daily backup of the two (2) drives in a
Dell 420 Workstation. Each of these 80GB SCSI drives currently
contains about 7GB of data. I need something that I can RESTORE from
in the event of a HD malfunction.

My questions are:

1. Is the XP Pro "System Backup Utility" free of problems and/or
is
there program someone would recoommend instead?

2. What is the best destination media to use to back them up to?
Is it streaming tape, an external HD or ?? If an external drive, what
would be the fastest and simplest port to use?

Thanks,

Mike

Perfect question. I'd like to know, too! (I'm hoping to be able to back-up
to CD...)
Jumpin' on the wagon...

I believe that the native ntbackup will not backup directly to CD. Do
you really want to backup several GB (probably) to CD anyway?

You could backup to disk first then copy the backup file to CD, but
probably you would be better off with a purpose built backup to CD
product.

Cheers,

Cliff
